HSGQ fiber ONT/ONU (Optical network unit) is used to connect last-mile internet over a fiber network. This Reset guide provides you complete steps to reset HSGQ fiber ONT modem to restore into default settings in case you forget the admin password or for any other reason that you want to reset it.This HSGQ Fiber ONT Factory Reset manual works with HSGQ XPON Onu Fiber for WiFi Router, Single Band XPON, Dual-band GPON, and XPON as well as dual-band 2GE+2.4G+5.8G(1200M)wifi XPON ONU and many other HSGQ fiber modems.
The method of factory resetting HSGQ ONT devices is the same for single-band, dual-band EPON, GPON, and Xpon fiber WIFI modems. There are two methods of factory resetting HSGQ Gigabit ONT and Fast Ethernet (FE) ONT using the Reset button and from the web interface.
A fast and easy method is a hard reset if you forget your login password and cannot log in to the web interface then a hard reset can be processed using the reset button. If you know the login username & password for your ONT modem but are facing any connectivity or internet issues you need to make it reset then you can download the configuration backup file before restoring settings to default.
How to Factory reset HSGQ Fiber ONU from the Web interface?
To make a Fiber WIFI ONU modem reset you are required to connect the device from a wireless or wired to access the web interface from a mobile or PC.
Check the ONT modem device bottom side sticker to find the default login IP address along with username and password for first-time access web interface if you have not changed the login password already.
HSGQ ONT Download Configuration backup file
For the safe method before resetting’s ONT device download the configuration backup file. Follow the steps below to download the configuration file.
- Connect HSGQ fiber WIFI ONT using WIFI from mobile/Laptop.
- Connect HSGQ Fiber ONT without WiFi using a LAN cable from the ONT LAN port to the Laptop/Desktop.
- Open the web browser and access 192.168.1.1 and use “admin” as username and password in default mode.
- Find the login username and password printed on your ONT modem sticker.
- To save the configuration backup file go to the “Admin” tab from the top menu.
- Admin- Backup & Restore
- Backup settings to file- Backup (press a backup button and save the file to the drive)
After the backup file is saved now follow the steps to factory reset HSGQ fiber ONU the device.
Factory Reset HSGQ WIFI FIBER ONT / ONU
Go to Admin – Backup & Restore
Reset Settings to default– RESET
Press the Reset button and you will ask for confirmation you want to factory reset your ONT modem which caused of to lose all configurations and your internet to stop working until you setup it up again.
Pres YES button to confirm settings and after finishing the reset process login the web interface and upload the settings backup file that was saved earlier.
This reset method called the soft reset method from WEBGUI requires a connection with the ONT modem from a Mobile/Laptop or PC.
Hard Reset HSGQ Fiber WIFI DUAL Band ONT Modem using the Reset button
HSGQ ONU Reset using the Reset button is not required to connect and login settings. It is a physical process performed with a reset button and takes only a few seconds to restore configurations.
- Power ON the ONT modem first if not already powered ON.
- Find a small reset button beside the Ethernet ports.
- Use any needle or toothpick to press the reset button if there is a small reset button hole and if it’s a button then just press it.
- Hold and press the reset button for 10 seconds and release the button.
- The modem will automatically restart after the reset process is done and the default configuration will be restored.
- Login using the default IP address, username, and password and restore the configuration if you already have configuration backup.
- You can also configure it manually or contact your service provider to get internet settings details.
You can use both the HSGQ Fiber ONT Factory Reset method for HSGQ single band, dual-band XPON, EPPON, GPON, and 4 antenna dual band XPON ONT WIFI modems. After making ONT reset if you still facing any issues with your modem then you can upgrade HSGQ ONT firmware which you can get from the official HSQG Website or contact the support center.
Only use the reset method if you tried all the way to get login information and you have only one way to hard reset your ont. Making an HSGQ router will delete all configuration and you need to setup again. So make sure you are ready for it and that you already have all the configuration backup or settings details.
